Avatax Customer Usage Type at Line Level

The solution adds a new UDF at document line level: Customer Usage Type (U_ARNGS_CUUT), letting set a specific Customer Usage Type value for each line.

One of the use cases for this, is to make a line taxable when the customer is exempt. Suppose you have an exempt customer, and for any reason you need to make a document line taxable. 

In this case you can set the value TAXABLE in the Customer Usage Type at the line level, and Avatax will consider the line taxable, overriding the exemption.

.Net Framework Upgrade

Starting on release x22.06.26, the Avatax solution components will require the .Net Framework 4.8 runtime installed on every PC running the applications.

Not having this installed will produce issues when running the applications, or not running at all.

Overview

Beginning July 1, 2022, the state of Colorado is imposing a $0.27 Retail Delivery Fee (RDF) on all deliveries by motor vehicle to a location in Colorado with at least one item of tangible personal property subject to state sales and use tax. 

Retailers must separately state the retail delivery fee on all customer invoices and receipts.

Note: The fee is levied on all qualifying deliveries, even when shipping is free.

Customer Usage Type

A new UDF is added at Marketing Documents header level: U_ARGNS_CUUT, named Customer Usage Type.

This field is mapped on tax calculations to the Avatax request Customer Usage Type field.

Tax Included

A new UDF U_ARGNS_TAXINCL is added, at Marketing Documents header level, with valid values Yes/No, default to No.

Calculating with this flag set to yes enables sending the tax calculation request to Avatax with the taxIncluded field of the request set to true.

New feature. Continue adding or updating a document after tax calculation error or warnings.

• There are some situations, like when a document tax line is already closed, but the user still wants to update some documents fields and the calculation is set to automatic.
• Previously in this scenario the add-on will show the error and stop the update/add process.
• Now a prompt message let the user decide if still want to complete the data event despite the Avatax validation message.
